WERK X-Eldorado is going to serve as location for our Opening Party – and as the backdrop for many special moments. On September 16th, The Red Love, a play from Belgrade about the revolutionary idea of love, kicks off our festival FOREVER TOGETHER. The play’s folk sounds will morph into a party at WERK X-Eldorado, featuring DJs and artists such as CHILO ERIBENNE and MARIO GRUBIŠIĆ. The opening evening’s special guest is not only a former refugee from Bosnia and previous construction site worker who is currently involved in the export import business, he is also a triple winner of the MTV Awards: singer Pireli from Vienna! Despite having had many offers in the past years, PIRELI has (temporarily) put his music career on the back burner. However, he will be having his grand comeback to the cultural life of Vienna’s 1st district – exclusively for us!
Pireli will partner up with his friend and colleague D-BO, a rapper and music producer from Berlin. Get ready for Pireli’s unique hybrid Balkan folk/rap style. Our love for Austria will be expressed through Pireli’s top 100,000,000 hit Esterreich. The evening
culminate in Pireli’s and D-Bo’s rendition of the love song 9000 (originally performed by Željko Samardžić, and translated into German), a song about the power and persistence of love: ‘Er liebt dich länger, ich liebe dich mehr.’
But there’s more to it! We will continue with Enes & Esra, the marvellous brother-and-sister duo from esRAP, a true gem of Vienna’s contemporary political art, who couch their affection for this city through a rather unhesitating musical criticism of exclusion. Lyrics of protest in German and Turkish are embedded in oriental beats, and will bring us joy when hearing lines such as ‘Das Leben ist lang und schwäre Marathon, laufen ohne Rassisten mit Klarem Ton’.
Somewhere between the beats, and also between the lines, the open working group #L0V3_H4CK1N6 will make you read even more into it. They will get your hopes and expectations up when giving you the opportunity of a first glimpse of what their 24-hour dating marathon and the mysterious place called the ‘ugly heart’ are all about.
Needless to say that some things will pop up rather spontaneously – and we will of course also have some surprises in stock for you.
