The multimedia exhibition Migration Messages follows the traces of Africa's migrants and its diaspora. In a collective work process with the African community, Migration Messages creates a public platform for the perspectives and demands of Black people.

Migration Messages – Collective Realities of African Migration is a multimedia exhibition project which shows the numerous facets of migration in the context of Africa. The exhibition itself embarks on a journey to various geographical locations, however following all the traces of Africa's migrants and its diaspora.

On the occasion of WIENWOCHE, various artistic objects are travelling with the Ghanaian artist, Serge Attukwei Clottey – paintings, sculptures, photos, videos and installations – from Accra to Vienna. The exhibition that is going to be presented during WIENWOCHE at the WUK is the result of a collective work process with representatives of the Black Community – Bilonda Bukasa, Marissa Lôbo, Jahson the Scientist und James Gore/The Missing Link, amongst others –, that are presenting their stories and their knowledge in artistic works.

Migration Messages creates a platform for people with an African heritage that want to tell their stories and share their experiences with others. By building up new networks and exchanging knowledge, Migration Messages would like to present in detail a solid joint perspective from a variety of fragmented individual experiences. Rooted in the historical, social, economic, political and social realities of Africa and its diaspora, an unconditional plea for the right to freedom of movement is established.

The exhibition at the WUK is going to be accompanied by discussion events, tours and performances.
