Which book on questions concerning migration should exist, however, was never published due to present circumstances? The publishing house, Proll Positions, presents books that were never meant to be – and are thus becoming part of active discourse with the confines of knowledge production.

Utopian, that is open-ended dissidence – a permanent vision that has not been made into reality. The project entails exactly this, the living in and occupying of this space between planning and execution, present and future, "not possible" and "nevertheless!": The publishing house, Proll Positions, with Edition 44mm: Millions of Migrations, presents a real library of Utopia and migration.

The following question went to a total of 44 migration experts: Which book on migration should exist and would have to exist, but was never published due to present circumstances?

The word 'experts' refers to experts of themselves and of their own practices. Thus, bouncers and cleaning personnel in Viennese nightclubs form their personal views with regard to Austrian spirit – Austrians on Ecstasy. Also scientists, for whom small-minded recognition regulations and ordinary capitalism have put a spoke in the wheel of their personal life planning, are going to get a shot. Which book would they have written if the circumstances were not the way they are?

At Proll Positions, books appear that were never meant to be – the predominate adversity to spite. The broad range of topics covers exhibition practices and spatial production, theory or activism, and without saying literature and art. In short: "You are going regret having taught us German!" And: "We have to think further than the range of our guns."
